Description

The Labonete is a black LED pendant light made of three tiered spiral rings, each an open curve that sweeps round and stops short of closing, hung on fine wires from a round ceiling canopy. The body is aluminium and steel finished in black, and a white plastic shade runs along every ring, so the light comes from the rings themselves. It is 80cm across and 180cm tall overall. The LEDs are integrated, drawing 50W and giving 9,000lm, so there is no bulb to buy. With an IP20 rating it is made for indoors and dry rooms, so keep it away from bathrooms and porches.

At 80cm across, this is a pendant for a room with space around it: over a big dining table, in the middle of an open-plan living room or hanging in a generous hallway or stairwell. With 9,000lm it has the output to be the main light in a large room, and the black rings read as a strong line drawing against a pale ceiling even when the LEDs are unlit. The adjustable colour temperature runs from 2200K, a warm glow for evenings, to 6500K, a crisp light for reading, cooking or working, so one fitting covers the whole day.

The light is controlled by the remote control that comes in the box, and it is dimmable, so brightness and colour temperature are set from your chair. The remote takes a CR2032 battery. There is no switch on the fitting; it is switched at the wall. Black aluminium and steel make the frame, and the white plastic shades soften the LEDs into an even glow along each curve. As a wired-in mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available to download. Packed, it weighs 6.66KG. Keep the remote somewhere handy, since it is how you dim the light and change its colour.
