Description

The Kyra is a 2-light crystal wall light with an integrated pull-cord switch, built around a satin nickel metal frame measuring 260mm wide by 270mm high. Two curved arms extend from an oval-shaped backplate, each terminating in an E14 candle fitting dressed with chains of faceted crystal droplets. The bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the crystal-draped arms, with the light refracting through the cut glass when the fitting is switched on.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms, hallways and bedrooms where decorative wall lighting is needed without having to run switched circuits, the Kyra's integrated pull-cord switch allows the light to be turned on and off at the fitting itself. The 170mm projection from the wall keeps the crystal droplets clear of the backplate, giving the crystals room to catch light from multiple angles. The satin nickel finish provides a muted metallic tone that sits between polished chrome and brushed steel, pairing with both warm and cool interior colour schemes.

Each arm carries approximately eight crystal droplets in varying sizes, secured on brass pins to allow some movement and refraction when air circulates or doors close nearby. The metal frame uses a square-section profile rather than round tubing, giving the Kyra a more architectural appearance than traditional Flemish-style wall lights. The fitting weighs 0.5kg and mounts directly to a standard UK double-gang backbox via the oval backplate, with the weight distributed across two fixing points.

What bulbs does it take?

The Kyra takes two E14 (small Edison screw) candle bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for ambient lighting. Flame-tip or bent-tip candle bulbs work well with the crystal droplets.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, if you fit dimmable E14 bulbs. The integrated pull-cord switch is not a dimmer itself, so dimming control must come from either a wall-mounted dimmer on the circuit or dimmable smart bulbs with remote control.

How does the integrated switch work?

The fitting has a pull-cord switch hanging below the left arm, visible in the image. Pull once to switch on, pull again to switch off. This allows the light to be controlled at the fitting without needing a wall switch, useful for bedside positions or areas where running a switched circuit is difficult.

Can the crystals be removed for cleaning?

The crystal droplets are secured on brass pins and can be carefully removed for cleaning if needed. Wipe each crystal with a dry microfibre cloth, or for more thorough cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth with distilled water. Avoid submerging the crystals or using household cleaners.
