Kos 4 Light Bar Pendant Light - White & Black

The Kos is a 900mm bar pendant suspending four matt white conical shades on black flex cables from a matching white metal bar. Each shade houses an E27 bulb fitting (bulbs sold separately), and the black flex provides a visual contrast against the white shades and canopy. The bar itself measures 110mm wide, giving it a low-profile presence on the ceiling.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and hospitality counters where linear light distribution is needed, the Kos suits spaces between 2.4-3m in width. The adjustable drop of 350-1500mm allows the pendants to be set at the appropriate height during installation — typically 700-800mm above a dining table or 600-750mm above a kitchen worktop depending on ceiling height. The four light sources provide even coverage along the length of the bar without creating harsh shadows.

The matt white powder-coated finish on the shades and bar diffuses light downward while the black flex and junction details add definition to the monochrome composition. Each conical shade tapers to direct light toward the surface below, making the fitting function as task lighting as well as decorative. The 3.01kg weight requires a secure ceiling fixing point capable of supporting the bar plus the weight of four installed bulbs.

Mantra manufactures the Kos range in Spain. The E27 fittings accept standard Edison screw bulbs, allowing choice of LED wattage, colour temperature and filament style to suit the room. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs chosen — LED bulbs rated as dimmable will work with most trailing-edge dimmers.

What bulbs does the Kos take?

Each of the four shades takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining or kitchen island use.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, if you fit dimmable bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch. LED bulbs should be rated as dimmable and work best with trailing-edge dimmers. The fitting itself has no built-in dimming — dimmer compatibility depends entirely on the bulbs you choose.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1500mm maximum drop works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above when the pendants are set 700-800mm above a dining table. Lower ceilings can still accommodate the Kos if the drop is shortened during installation to the 350mm minimum, though this reduces visual drama.

What width table or island does it suit?

The 900mm bar length suits tables or islands between 2.4-3m in width. For narrower surfaces the four shades may feel overcrowded; for wider surfaces consider pairing two Kos bars in parallel or choosing a longer multi-pendant configuration.
