Description

The Knightsbridge Mini PIR is a compact motion sensor with a 180° field of detection and 12m range when mounted at 2.4m height. The unit switches connected lighting automatically when movement is detected within its coverage zone, eliminating the need for manual switching in corridors, stairwells, storage areas, garages and porches. The sensor head tilts on its base to adjust the detection angle after installation.

Built for both wall and ceiling mounting, the sensor works as a standalone unit on 230V mains wiring or can be wired in parallel with additional sensors to cover larger or more complex areas. The adjustable lux control sets the ambient light threshold at which the sensor activates (daylight disable), while the timer adjustment ranges from 10 seconds to 15 minutes, allowing the light to stay on for a set period after the last detected movement.

The polycarbonate white housing carries an IP44 rating, making it suitable for covered outdoor locations such as carports, covered walkways and porch canopies where rain splash may occur but the unit is not directly exposed to weather. The switching capacity handles up to 2000W incandescent or 1000W LED, allowing control of multiple connected fittings on a single circuit. Certified to EN 61058-1, EN 55015, EN 61547 and EN 61000 standards.

Frequently Asked

What is the detection range and coverage angle?

The sensor provides 180° horizontal coverage with a 12m detection range when mounted at the recommended 2.4m height. The sensor head can be tilted after installation to adjust the vertical detection angle for optimum positioning.

Can it be used outdoors?

The IP44 rating protects against rain splash, making the sensor suitable for covered outdoor locations such as carports, covered walkways and porch canopies. It should not be installed in fully exposed positions where it would be subject to direct driving rain.

How do the lux and timer adjustments work?

The lux control sets the ambient light level below which the sensor will activate. This prevents the sensor triggering in daylight. The timer control sets how long the connected light stays on after the last detected movement, adjustable from 10 seconds to 15 minutes.

What load can it switch?

The sensor can switch up to 2000W incandescent or 1000W LED load. This allows control of multiple light fittings on a single circuit, provided the combined wattage stays within the rated capacity.
