Description

The Knightsbridge FLG20RGB is a 20W RGB LED floodlight housed in a die-cast aluminium body with IP65 weather protection and a black powder-coated finish. The integrated LED array produces 1100 lumens across a full RGB colour spectrum, controlled via the included infrared remote that allows selection of static colours, fade effects and strobe modes. The floodlight remembers the last colour and mode setting, even after mains power is cycled off and on.

Designed for garden accent lighting, driveway borders, building façade washing and outdoor entertaining areas, the RGB capability allows the light output to be changed to suit seasonal decorations, party themes or simply to rotate through colours for visual interest. The compact 210mm x 180mm footprint fits into planting beds, at the base of walls, or mounted on fences and soffits using the adjustable rear bracket. The 1m cable runs from the rear of the housing to a suitable outdoor socket or weatherproof junction box.

The die-cast aluminium construction with toughened glass lens provides impact resistance (IK08 equivalent) and maintains IP65 protection against dust and water jets from any angle, making it suitable for permanent outdoor installation in UK weather. The black finish recedes into shadow during daylight and allows the coloured light output to dominate once switched on after dark. The 20,000-hour L70B50 rating indicates the LED will retain at least 70% of initial brightness after approximately 9 years of use at 6 hours per night.

How is the colour changed?

The floodlight is controlled using the included infrared remote, which allows selection of 16 static colours plus fade, strobe and flash effects. Point the remote at the floodlight from up to approximately 8 metres away and press the desired colour button. The unit stores the last setting in memory, so it returns to that colour when switched back on at the wall.

Can it be left outdoors year-round?

Yes. The IP65 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making it suitable for permanent outdoor installation in UK weather including rain, snow and frost. The die-cast aluminium housing resists corrosion and the toughened glass lens withstands thermal cycling.

What beam angle does it provide?

RGB floodlights in this format typically provide a 120° beam angle, giving broad area coverage rather than a narrow spotlight effect. This makes the FLG20RGB suitable for washing walls, lighting planting beds or illuminating driveways rather than spotlighting individual features from distance.

Does it need an electrician to install?

The floodlight requires connection to 230V mains supply. If you are connecting directly to fixed building wiring or installing a new outdoor socket, this must be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with BS 7671 wiring regulations. The 1m cable terminates in a standard UK 3-pin plug if connecting to an existing outdoor socket.
