Knightsbridge 18W LED Bulkhead IP65 CCT Adjustable Daylight Sensor - Grey

The Knightsbridge 18W LED bulkhead is a 360mm circular wall or ceiling fitting with an integrated photocell daylight sensor, IP65 weatherproofing and adjustable colour temperature switching between 3000K, 4000K and 6000K. The die-cast aluminium body is finished in grey and the polycarbonate diffuser resists impact and yellowing. The photocell switches the light on at dusk and off at dawn automatically, removing the need for manual control or timers.

Designed for external mounting on building facades, carport ceilings, pathways, entrances and communal areas, the bulkhead provides wide-angle flood lighting across a 110° beam. The IP65 rating protects the internal electronics against rain, coastal moisture and dust ingress year-round. The anti-vandal polycarbonate fixings resist tampering in public or exposed locations. The fitting mounts onto a standard electrical back box or directly onto masonry via the rear entry point.

The CCT gear tray allows colour temperature to be set during installation via a switch inside the fitting: 3000K produces 1680 lumens of warm white light, 4000K delivers 1790 lumens of neutral white, and 6000K outputs 1810 lumens of cool daylight white. This allows one SKU to cover different visual needs without stocking three separate bulkhead models. The SMD LED array is rated for 50,000 hours to L70B50, which translates to approximately 17 years at 8 hours per night.

The grey powder-coated aluminium body dissipates heat efficiently and pairs with modern rendered facades, composite cladding and grey brick. The 92mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting profile low while allowing space for the daylight sensor and rear cable entry. The opal polycarbonate diffuser softens the LED point sources into an even wash of light without creating hotspots on the illuminated surface.

How does the daylight sensor work?

The integrated photocell detects ambient light levels and automatically switches the bulkhead on at dusk and off at dawn. This removes the need for manual switching or timers and ensures the light only operates when needed, reducing energy consumption.

Can the colour temperature be changed after installation?

Yes. The CCT gear tray inside the fitting has a switch that allows selection between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 6000K cool daylight white. The selection is made during installation or maintenance by opening the diffuser and toggling the switch. The fitting must be powered off before adjusting.

Is it suitable for coastal environments?

The IP65 rating and die-cast aluminium construction provide protection against moisture and dust ingress. Knightsbridge does not explicitly rate this bulkhead for salt-spray coastal zones, but the sealed construction and powder-coated finish offer more resistance than standard IP44 fittings. For exposed coastal installations, regular inspection and maintenance are recommended.

How is the bulkhead mounted?

The fitting can be mounted directly onto masonry, brick or rendered walls using the rear cable entry point and fixing holes around the base rim. It can also be mounted onto a standard electrical back box. The polycarbonate fixings are anti-vandal and require a security tool to remove once installed.
