Description

The Klampenborg is a 275mm outdoor chain pendant built from 304-grade stainless steel with a black powder-coated finish, housing a clear glass shade around a single E27 bulb fitting. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction and solid objects above 1mm, making it suitable for covered outdoor locations such as porches, verandas and pergolas where it's shielded from direct rainfall but exposed to weather.

Designed for installation under canopies, porch ceilings and covered outdoor dining areas, the Klampenborg provides downward task light for doorways, seating areas and pathways. The 655mm chain gives a drop range from 360mm to 975mm depending on how much chain is used during fitting, allowing the pendant to be set at the appropriate height for the specific installation — typically 2-2.2m above ground for a porch or 700-900mm above an outdoor table.

The black powder coating bonds to the stainless steel substrate to resist corrosion and flaking in outdoor conditions, while the clear glass shade allows the bulb to act as the decorative element. Pairing the pendant with a vintage-style filament LED bulb (sold separately) gives a warm amber glow, or a standard frosted LED provides functional white light. The combined metal shade and chain construction gives the fitting a robust 2.8kg weight suited to secure ceiling fixings.

The IP44 rating protects against splashing water and dust, but the pendant requires overhead shelter from direct rainfall. It suits covered porches, verandas, pergolas and canopies, not open patios or gardens exposed to weather from above.

How is the drop adjusted?

The 655mm chain can be shortened during installation by removing links or looping excess chain inside the ceiling canopy, giving a minimum drop of 360mm and maximum of 975mm. The cable runs inside the chain links.

Does the glass shade remove for bulb changes?

Yes. The clear glass shade is secured by a threaded collar or retention ring at the base of the metal shade housing, allowing it to be removed to access the E27 bulb fitting.
