Description

The Kinsale is a 1 light outdoor flush wall light constructed from black polymer with a clear polycarbonate diffuser and an IP44 rating. The black polymer body resists corrosion and impact damage in coastal and high-exposure outdoor environments where metal fittings would typically pit and corrode. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) housed behind a clear polycarbonate lens.

Designed for exterior walls on porches, pathways, entryways and patios, the Kinsale mounts flush to the wall with a traditional lantern profile. The IP44 rating provides protection against solid objects larger than 1mm and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for locations under partial shelter or exposed to rain. The clear polycarbonate diffuser maximises light output while protecting the bulb from weather and impacts.

The black polymer material allows the Kinsale to be installed in coastal locations where salt air would degrade aluminium or steel fittings over time. The polymer retains its colour and structural integrity without the patina or surface pitting seen in outdoor metal fixtures after several seasons of exposure. The traditional lantern form pairs with period, cottage and coastal property styles without requiring the maintenance associated with cast metal alternatives.

The Kinsale takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W for outdoor ambience and pathway visibility.

The Kinsale mounts flush to the exterior wall using two fixing points on the rear mounting plate. The electrical connection is made within the mounting plate, and the front lantern section clips or screws onto the plate once wired. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 wiring regulations.
