Description

The Kinke is a portable outdoor table lamp with an oil-lamp-inspired silhouette, combining an anthracite metal handle and top plate with a tapered opal white ABS diffuser body. Rated IP65 for full dust protection and water jet resistance, the lamp runs from mains power via a black fabric-covered cable (visible in the image) and takes a single E27 bulb up to 20W (sold separately). The handle allows the lamp to be carried between locations or hung from a hook.

Designed for outdoor dining tables, side tables on patios, balcony corners and covered terraces, the Kinke provides ambient rather than task lighting. The opal ABS body diffuses light evenly in all directions, softening the glare from the bulb and creating a glow suitable for evening outdoor use. The 350mm height and 220mm diameter make it proportionally similar to a small wine bottle, so it sits comfortably on a cafe table or bistro set without dominating the surface. The IP65 rating means it can remain outside in rain, though prolonged exposure to UV may eventually fade the ABS body.

The anthracite finish on the handle and top plate is a dark charcoal grey with a slight texture, contrasting with the smooth white diffuser. The handle arcs over the top of the lamp in a continuous loop, anchored to the metal top plate at two points. The lamp stands on a flat anthracite base ring that provides stability on uneven outdoor surfaces. At 1.1kg the lamp has enough weight to resist tipping in light wind but remains light enough to move single-handed. Dimmable when paired with a dimmable E27 LED bulb and a compatible dimmer (dimmer not included).

Is the Kinke battery-powered or mains-powered?

The Kinke runs from mains power via a black fabric-covered cable. It is not battery-powered, so it requires access to an outdoor socket or an extension lead from an indoor socket.

What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?

IP65 provides full protection against dust ingress and resistance to water jets from any direction. The lamp can be left outside in rain, but should not be submerged in water. Prolonged exposure to UV may eventually fade the white ABS body.

What bulb does it take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 20W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 4-8W and 2700K for ambient outdoor lighting.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E27 LED bulb and a compatible dimmer switch or plug-in dimmer module. The lamp itself does not include dimming controls.
