Description

The Kincaid is a 381mm diameter flush ceiling light with three E27 bulb fittings housed behind an opal etched glass diffuser, set into a polished chrome metal frame with chamfered stepped detailing. The 170mm fitting height sits close to the ceiling while the three-bulb configuration provides enough output to serve as primary lighting in rooms up to 15-18m².

Designed for bathrooms, bedrooms, hallways and low-ceiling living spaces, the IP44 rating makes the Kincaid safe for installation in bathroom zone 2 where moisture and steam are present. The opal etched glass softens the light from the bulbs and prevents direct glare, turning the entire glass surface into a diffused light source rather than showing three separate bulb points.

The polished chrome finish reflects ambient light in the room and pairs with chrome taps, towel rails and other bathroom fittings. The chamfered metal rim around the glass adds depth and shadow detail that prevents the fitting from reading as flat against a white ceiling. Each E27 socket accepts bulbs up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose LED, halogen or filament bulbs depending on the required brightness and colour temperature for the space.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating makes the Kincaid suitable for bathroom zone 2, covering most bathroom ceiling positions except directly above a shower or bath where IP65 or higher would be required. The rating protects against water splashes and moisture.

What bulbs does it take?

The Kincaid takes three E27 bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are not included. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K for bathroom or bedroom lighting, giving a combined output of 2,400-3,600 lumens.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 170mm fitting height keeps the light close to the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above without the fitting feeling intrusive.

How is the glass cleaned?

The opal etched glass can be wiped with a soft damp cloth and a mild glass cleaner. Switch off the power and allow bulbs to cool before cleaning. The glass diffuser typically lifts or unscrews from the chrome base for more thorough cleaning.
