Three integrated LEDs sit behind a frosted white diffuser, throwing an even warm white glow along a compact rectangular body finished in sand white. At 260mm long it is a modest piece, low in profile and quiet on the wall, with the soft matt tone of the finish keeping it from drawing attention when the light is off. The colour of the light is warm rather than crisp, the sort that flatters plaster, paint and timber. There is no switch on the body and no dimming, so it takes its cue from the wall switch.

We would use it where a lamp has nowhere to stand: a narrow hallway, the turn of a staircase, an alcove beside a chimney breast, or in pairs either side of a bed where reading light is wanted without a cluttered bedside table. It suits rooms that want light spread along a wall rather than pooled in one spot, so it works well on a landing or in a corridor with several doors off it. Being unsealed against damp, it belongs in the dry rooms of the house and should stay out of shower rooms and porches.

The body is finished in a fine sand white that reads as a soft off-white against most walls, and the diffuser is a frosted white that hides the LEDs rather than showing them as points. Keep the diffuser clear of dust and the light stays even: switch off at the wall, let the fitting go cold, then wipe the face with a barely damp cloth and dry it. Nothing solvent should go near it. It carries a three year warranty. We also stock the same light in an oval, should a softer outline suit the room better.
