An oval face of frosted white glows evenly rather than throwing a hard pool of light, set on a sand white body that sits close to the wall with only a shallow projection. The integrated LED draws 12W and gives 490 lumens of warm white, a soft 3000K that sits comfortably against pale paint. There is no switch on the fitting itself, so it takes its cue from the wall switch it is wired to, and the output holds at one level. We reach for it where a table lamp simply is not an option.

Hallways and landings are the obvious homes: a pair facing each other along a corridor, or one at the turn of a staircase so light falls on the treads without dazzling anyone coming down. It suits bedrooms as well, above a bedside table where a shade would only get knocked, and it earns its place in a study or a small sitting room as background light beside a brighter central fitting. Dry, heated rooms are its territory, and we would not choose it for a shower room or an exposed porch.

The frosted white face diffuses the light behind it so the whole oval reads as one panel, while the sand white finish is a flat, quiet white that settles into most wall colours rather than standing out against them. Dust gathers on the top edge more than on the face, so lift it off with a dry cloth every so often with the power off at the switch. It carries a three year warranty.
