Khalifa 3 Light Bar Pendant Light - Copper

The Khalifa is a 3 light bar pendant built on a 900mm linear copper bar suspending three teardrop-shaped copper pendants on adjustable fabric-covered cables. Each pendant pairs a polished copper upper section with a precision-cut crystal rim at the base, which refracts and disperses light from the GU10 bulb inside. The copper finish is highly reflective, doubling the brightness when lit and creating warm metallic highlights across the ceiling plane.

Designed for installation above kitchen islands, dining tables and breakfast bars, the 900mm bar suits spaces where three evenly-spaced light sources are needed along a horizontal plane. The drop is adjustable from 300mm to 1500mm on installation, allowing the pendants to be set 650-750mm above a worktop or 700-800mm above a dining table depending on ceiling height. The GU10 fittings accept any standard GU10 LED, halogen or retrofit bulb (sold separately), offering full control over colour temperature and beam angle.

Each pendant weighs 1.2kg and the combined fitting carries 3.6kg from the ceiling rose, requiring a secure fixing into a joist or ceiling batten rather than plasterboard alone. The polished copper surface requires periodic cleaning to maintain the high-gloss finish — fingerprints and dust show easily but wipe clean with a microfibre cloth. The crystal rim on each pendant is faceted rather than smooth, creating prismatic scatter when the bulb is on and adding visual interest when off.

The Khalifa is part of Mantra's designer lighting collection and was created by Spanish designer Santiago Sevillano. The teardrop form and crystal detailing reference traditional Middle Eastern metalwork while the linear bar format and GU10 lamp technology keep the fitting functionally modern. Dimmable when paired with dimmable GU10 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch.

What bulbs does the Khalifa take?

Each pendant takes a standard GU10 bulb (sold separately). Most users fit 4-6W GU10 LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for kitchen islands and dining tables. The fitting accepts any GU10 lamp up to the maximum wattage specified on the product label.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is dimmer-compatible, but you must use dimmable GU10 bulbs and pair them with a compatible GU10 LED dimmer switch. Non-dimmable LED bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.

What ceiling height is needed?

The drop adjusts from 300mm to 1500mm during installation. For a kitchen island or dining table the pendants typically hang 650-750mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Lower ceilings can still accommodate the Khalifa if the cables are shortened to the 300mm minimum drop.

How is the copper finish maintained?

Polished copper shows fingerprints and dust easily but wipes clean with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid household sprays or metal polishes as these can damage the protective lacquer over the copper plating.
