Description
The Kestwick wall light is a compact fitting at 290mm wide and 210mm high, with a projection of just 120mm. Its shade is multicoloured Tiffany-style leaded glass held in a metal frame and backplate, lit by one 40W E14 golf bulb, supplied separately. The glass is cut into small panels and joined with lead, so the colour is in the material and the pattern is visible whether or not the light is on. At 0.8kg the fitting is light to handle and simple to fix. It is Class 2, double insulated.
With only 120mm of projection this is one of the slimmest wall sconces to carry leaded glass, which makes it the answer in a narrow hall, a stairwell or a small landing where anything deeper gets knocked. It also works in pairs beside a bed, a mirror or a chimney breast. Mount it around 1.5 metres to 1.6 metres above the floor for general light. The 40W output is a background layer rather than a reading light, so keep a table lamp or ceiling light for the rest of the room.
The metal backplate and frame take the fixing load and the leaded glass sits within them, so the panels are not stressed. Dust with a dry soft cloth; a barely damp cloth handles fingerprints, followed by a dry one so the lead lines do not stay wet. Keep solvents, ammonia-based sprays and abrasive creams away. Rated IP20, it belongs in dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms. Use a dimmable bulb with a compatible dimmer for a lower level. The small scale makes it easy to repeat down a long wall without the pattern becoming heavy.

Frequently Asked
How slim is it?
The projection is 120mm, with a width of 290mm and a height of 210mm, which makes it one of the slimmest leaded glass wall lights we stock.
What is the shade made from?
Multicoloured leaded glass in the Tiffany style, cut into small panels and joined with lead, held in a metal frame and backplate.
Where should I mount it?
Around 1.5 metres to 1.6 metres from the floor for general lighting. In pairs beside a bed, fit it lower so the light falls at reading height.
Which bulb does it need?
One 40W E14 golf bulb, not included. Fit a dimmable bulb with a compatible dimmer if you want to vary the level.
How do I clean it?
Dust with a dry soft cloth and use a barely damp cloth on fingerprints, drying straight after. Avoid solvents, ammonia-based sprays and abrasive creams.
Is it suitable for a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms, so use it in halls, on stairs, in bedrooms and in living rooms.
