This is a set of five solar spike lights. Each one is a slim stainless steel cylinder 20cm tall and 4.7cm in diameter, with a small solar panel set into the top, a clear plastic shade with fine vertical ribs and a black spike at the base. The light source in each one is an integrated solar LED of 0.06W, so there are no bulbs to buy or change. The LED is not replaceable, though, which is worth knowing before you choose. The brushed stainless steel body gives the set a clean, simple look, and five matching lights are enough to make a proper line of light rather than a single point.

Because the panel charges from daylight, there is no wiring and no plug to arrange, so the lights can go wherever the sun reaches them. As general guidance, they do best in an open, sunny spot, clear of anything that casts a shadow across the panel. The spike sits 10cm deep in soft soil and holds each light upright, and you can lift it out again whenever you want to rearrange the set.
