Description

The Kerry is a 1.16m outdoor pillar light built from black polymer with a traditional lantern-style head housing a single E27 bulb behind four-sided transparent polycarbonate panels. The polymer construction resists corrosion and impact damage, making it suited to coastal environments, exposed driveways and areas subject to frequent contact or harsh weather.

Designed for pathway lighting, driveway marking and patio boundaries, the Kerry provides 360-degree light distribution through its four clear panels. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes and dust ingress, allowing installation in exposed positions where rain and wind are frequent. The light sits on a hexagonal base plate that can be surface-mounted or set into paving, and the 1160mm height places the bulb at a typical mid-thigh level for an adult.

The black polymer finish eliminates the maintenance cycle of painted metal fixtures in coastal or high-moisture environments — there is no paint to chip, no rust to appear, and impact resistance is built into the material itself. The E27 socket accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W (sold separately), giving control over colour temperature and brightness to suit the application. What bulb does the Kerry take?

The light uses a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for pathway and driveway lighting.

How is it installed?

The hexagonal base plate can be surface-mounted onto existing hard surfaces with fixing bolts (not supplied), or the pillar can be set into paving or concrete during installation. The electrical cable feeds through the base and must be connected to suitable outdoor-rated wiring by a qualified electrician.

Is it suitable for coastal areas?

Yes. The polymer construction does not corrode in salt air, unlike painted aluminium or steel fixtures. The IP44 rating protects the electrical components from rain and sea spray, though the unit should still be sited where it is not directly submerged or subject to constant water flow.

What is the warranty coverage?

Elstead provides a 20-year warranty covering material defects and construction failures. This does not cover damage from incorrect installation, bulb failure, or impact damage from vehicles or deliberate misuse.
