Description

The Kerry is a 440mm outdoor flush wall light built from corrosion-proof black polymer with a clear polycarbonate diffuser around a single E27 bulb fitting. The flush-mount design sits tight to the wall with a 140mm projection, making it suitable for narrow side passages, porch entrances and exterior walls where a protruding bracket would obstruct movement.

Designed for UK coastal and exposed locations, the polymer body resists salt air corrosion that degrades aluminium and steel fittings over time, while the impact-resistant construction handles knocks from wheelie bins, bicycles and garden furniture in high-traffic areas. The IP44 rating protects against rain splashes and windblown dust, allowing installation on any external wall under an overhang or soffit, or on fully exposed walls in positions that do not collect standing water.

The lantern form pairs traditional six-panel glazing with modern polymer engineering, giving a classical outline without the weight and maintenance demands of cast metal. The clear polycarbonate panels diffuse the E27 bulb evenly across all six faces, casting light in multiple directions rather than in a single downward cone. The black finish provides high contrast against white render, cream brick and light-painted timber cladding.

The E27 socket accepts any standard Edison screw bulb up to 60W, including LED filament bulbs that replicate the warm glow of incandescent sources without the heat or energy draw. Most users pair the Kerry with a 6-8W LED filament bulb at 2700K for warm white output that suits residential entrances and garden patios.

Frequently Asked

Can the Kerry be used in fully exposed coastal locations?

Yes. The black polymer body is corrosion-proof and designed specifically for coastal climates where salt air damages metal fittings. The IP44 rating protects against rain and dust, though the fitting should not be installed in positions where water can pool around the base.

What bulb does it take?

The Kerry takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users install a 6-8W LED filament bulb at 2700K for warm white output that suits residential exteriors.

Is the polycarbonate diffuser shatterproof?

The polycarbonate glazing is impact-resistant and significantly tougher than glass, making it suitable for high-traffic areas where knocks from bins, bikes and garden tools are common. It will not shatter like glass if struck.

How is the fitting mounted?

The Kerry is a flush wall light that mounts directly onto an external wall using a rear backplate. The 140mm projection includes the backplate depth, so the fitting sits close to the wall surface once installed.
