Description

A neat round outdoor wall light in sand black, small enough to flank a front door without crowding the frame. The body is 70mm across and projects 95mm from the wall, so it reads as a tidy disc rather than a lantern. It takes a GU10 reflector lamp, giving a directed beam rather than a broad wash, and it is not dimmable, so a straightforward switched circuit suits it best. At this size it all but disappears into a wall by day and does its work after dark.

Use it where you want light without a fitting that announces itself: a porch, a back door, the side return, the wall of a garden room or a garage. A matched arrangement either side of an entrance works well, and a run of them along a boundary keeps a path readable at night. It is rated against rain and windblown dust, so it is happy on an unsheltered elevation as well as under an overhang. We reach for this one on narrow reveals and tight porches where anything deeper would be in the way, and where more output is wanted we also stock the two lamp version of the same round body.

The finish is a fine matt sand black with a slightly grainy surface that hides fingermarks and water spotting better than gloss, and it keeps its low key look against brick, render and dark timber alike. Wipe it down with a damp cloth now and then, once the lamp has gone cold, then dry it off; nothing more is needed. It carries a two year warranty. Alongside sand black, the round shape comes in anthracite, sand white and rust brown, and there is a matching square body if you are working with squared piers or crisp render. Lamps are supplied separately.
