Kandanchu 2 Light Round Outdoor Wall Light 15cm High - Sand Black

A compact round body, just 70mm across, finished in sand black with a fine grainy texture that keeps the surface matt rather than glossy. It holds two GU10 lamps and is not dimmable, so the output is the same each time the circuit is switched on. We reach for LED reflector capsules here: they suit the narrow body, keep running costs down and come up to full brightness straight away in cold weather. The shape is plain and low key, more a piece of trim beside a door than something that asks to be looked at.

It suits front and back doors, porches, garden walls, balconies and the side passage that never gets enough light. Fitted in pairs it frames an opening neatly, and along a longer wall it gives an even rhythm of light without glare at eye level. The sealing keeps dust and splashing water out, so driving rain and the odd sweep of a hose are no bother. There is no switch on the body, so it answers to whatever governs the circuit, be that a switch indoors, a timer or a movement sensor.

The textured sand black finish copes with weathering better than a smooth gloss and hides the marks that outdoor fittings tend to pick up. Keep it clean by wiping the body over with a damp cloth now and then and drying it off afterwards, and let the lamps go cold before you handle them. It carries a two year warranty. We stock the same fitting as a square version, and in anthracite, sand white and rust brown, so a mixed run of doors, garages and outbuildings can be kept consistent. Lamps are not included.

What lamps does it take?

Two GU10 lamps, one for each end of the fitting. A 50mm reflector LED is the recommended choice, rated to a maximum of 10W each.

How far does it stand off the wall?

Projection is 95mm, with a height of 150mm and a width of 70mm, so it stays tight to the wall in a narrow passage or beside a door frame.

Is it weatherproof enough for an exposed wall?

It is rated IP54, which covers dust and water splashed from any direction, so it handles rain and general British weather on an outside wall.

Can it be dimmed?

No. It is a non-dimmable fitting and should be run from a standard switched circuit rather than a dimmer.

How should I clean it?

Switch the circuit off and let the lamps cool, then wipe the body with a soft damp cloth and dry it. Avoid solvents and abrasive creams, which will dull the textured finish.

Is there a matching light for a single-lamp position?

Yes. The same round shape is made in a one-lamp version, and there is a square shape too, both offered in this range of finishes.
