The Kalmelle floor lamp is a tall, slender light in black steel: a slim pole rising from a round base and topped with an open wire cage shade in a tulip shape. It stands 159.5cm tall, with a shade 27.5cm across and a base 23cm across, so it takes very little floor space for the height it gives you. It holds a single E27 bulb of up to 60W, and the bulb is not included, which leaves the choice of colour and warmth to you. With an IP20 rating it belongs in dry rooms indoors, well away from bathrooms and the garden.

We see it working best beside a sofa or armchair in a living room, in the corner of a bedroom, or next to a reading chair in a study, where it lifts light well above the furniture on a quiet evening. The black wire frame suits industrial and loft-style rooms, and it sits just as comfortably alongside warm wood, leather or exposed brick.
