Description
The Jupiter is an outdoor wall light built from powder-coated die-cast aluminium in an anthracite finish, measuring 170mm wide by 70mm in projection from the wall. The fitting houses a single E27 bulb behind a dual-diffuser system, with transparent and sandblasted tempered glass lenses directing light both upwards and downwards from the wall mount. The IP54 rating provides protection against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction.
Designed for exterior installation on house walls, patios, garden boundaries and commercial building facades, the Jupiter provides both ambient and security lighting. The dual-glass diffusers split the E27 bulb's output into an upward wash onto the wall surface and a downward pool onto the ground or pathway below, creating a balanced distribution without harsh direct glare. The 170mm width keeps the fitting compact enough for narrow doorways and gate posts while giving adequate light spread for a standard 2-3m pathway width.
The die-cast aluminium body resists corrosion in coastal and wet climates, with the powder-coat finish bonded to the metal at high temperature for long-term adhesion. The anthracite grey sits between black and mid-grey, giving a neutral tone that pairs with brick, render, timber cladding and painted masonry without creating stark contrast. The tempered glass diffusers withstand thermal shock from bulb heat cycling and physical impact from garden maintenance.
The fitting accepts LED, halogen or filament E27 bulbs up to the manufacturer's maximum wattage (see Specification). Warm-white LEDs between 2700K-3000K are most commonly paired with exterior wall lights for residential use, while cooler 4000K LEDs suit commercial and security applications. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific bulb chosen and the type of dimmer installed indoors.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP54 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP54 provides protection against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the Jupiter suitable for installation under eaves, on covered porches, or fully exposed exterior walls. It will withstand rain, garden hose spray and coastal moisture, but is not rated for submersion or high-pressure water jets.
What bulb should I use?
The Jupiter takes a standard E27 bulb. For residential outdoor use, a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K provides comfortable ambient light. For security or commercial applications, a cooler 4000K LED gives better colour rendering. Always check the maximum wattage rating in the Specification table before fitting.
Does it come with a bulb?
No. E27 bulbs are sold separately, allowing you to choose the wattage, colour temperature and bulb style that suits your installation.
Can it be installed on a rendered wall?
Yes. The backplate is designed for surface mounting onto masonry, brick, render and timber cladding. Use appropriate fixings for your wall type and ensure the electrical supply is installed and terminated by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK wiring regulations.
