Description

The Jules is a 534mm drum pendant built around a double-layer shade: an outer cylinder of brushed nickel metalwork stamped with repeating ovals, and an inner white fabric diffuser that softens the light from three E27 bulbs. The stamped oval pattern creates geometric shadows when lit, turning the shade itself into both diffuser and decorative element.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, the Jules provides downward-focused task light and ambient fill depending on the bulbs fitted. The 553-1436mm adjustable drop accommodates different ceiling heights and installation positions, sitting typically 700-900mm above a dining table or 1200-1500mm above floor level in an entrance hall. The three E27 sockets accept LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W each, allowing control over light temperature and intensity.

The brushed nickel finish on the metalwork has a low-sheen satin surface that resists fingerprints and pairs with stainless appliances, chrome fixtures and cooler-toned interiors. The white fabric inner diffuser hides the bulbs from direct view when standing underneath the pendant, preventing glare while maintaining light output. The 534mm diameter suits rooms 12-20m² where a single central pendant provides the primary ceiling light source.

The pendant has three E27 (Edison screw) sockets, each rated for bulbs up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with LED bulbs between 8-12W in 2700K-3000K for warm white light suitable for dining and living areas.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop ranges from 553mm to 1436mm. For a dining table the pendant typically sits 700-900mm above the surface, requiring a ceiling height of approximately 2.4m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the Jules at the minimum drop setting for hallway or general room lighting.

Can the drop length be adjusted after installation?

The drop is set during installation by adjusting the cable and chain length at the ceiling canopy. Once installed the drop length is fixed unless the fitting is partially disassembled to re-adjust the cable run.

Is the Jules suitable for low ceilings?

At the 553mm minimum drop setting the Jules works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.3m upwards, though it is primarily designed for standard 2.4m+ ceilings. The 471mm shade height and 534mm diameter give the fitting substantial vertical presence.
