Description

The Jiva is a 200mm square wall light combining frosted glass with a polished chrome metal frame. A single E14 bulb sits inside the glass panel, which diffuses the light across its surface before projecting it into the room. The chrome frame holds the glass in place with four visible fixings at the corners and two mounting brackets top and bottom.

Designed for hallways, bathrooms and bedrooms where compact wall lighting is needed without a floor or table lamp footprint, the Jiva projects 100mm from the wall once mounted. The 200mm square format suits narrow hallways and bathrooms where a traditional wall bracket would overhang. The frosted glass reduces glare and softens the bulb filament when viewed directly, making the fitting suitable for mounting at eye level in circulation spaces.

The polished chrome finish reflects surrounding light and gives the frame a mirror-like quality that pairs with chrome taps, towel rails and door furniture in bathrooms. The frosted glass hides dust and water spots better than clear glass, reducing visible maintenance needs in high-humidity rooms. Is the Jiva suitable for bathroom use?

The specification table does not list an IP rating, so the Jiva should be installed outside bathroom zones requiring water protection (zones 1 and 2). It is suitable for general bathroom wall lighting in zone 3 or outside the zoned areas, typically 600mm or more from the edge of a bath or shower enclosure.

What bulb does it take?

The Jiva takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED candle bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bathroom or hallway lighting.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable E14 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming; the bulb must be explicitly rated as dimmable for the function to work.

How is the frosted glass cleaned?

Wipe the frosted glass gently with a damp microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks in bathrooms, a small amount of diluted glass cleaner can be used, but avoid spraying directly onto the chrome frame or letting moisture enter the bulb holder.
