Description

The Jarras is a 200mm glass pendant light with a double-walled cylindrical shade in ash grey glass, suspended from a polished chrome canopy on a height-adjustable cable. The outer glass layer is tinted grey while an inner clear glass cylinder holds a single E27 bulb (sold separately), creating a layered effect where warm filament light filters through the smoky glass.

Designed for kitchen islands, breakfast bars, hallways and living spaces, the Jarras works as a standalone piece or in multiples spaced 400-600mm apart above a worktop or dining table. The 460mm minimum drop suits standard 2.4m ceiling heights when hung over counters or tables, while the cable extends to 1950mm for higher ceilings or stairwell installations. The polished chrome canopy fits UK standard ceiling roses and the cable conceals wiring cleanly.

The ash grey glass softens the light output, making the pendant better suited to ambient or decorative roles than task lighting. Pairing with a warm-white filament LED (2200K-2700K) maximises the visual effect of the layered glass. The filament glows visibly through the grey tint, turning the shade itself into part of the design rather than just a diffuser. The chrome detailing on the canopy and shade cap adds reflective accents without overwhelming minimalist or industrial interiors.

At 1.85kg the pendant has enough weight to hang steadily on the cable without swaying under air movement, but remains light enough for installation on plasterboard ceilings with appropriate fixings. The E27 socket accepts bulbs up to the wattage limit shown in the Specification table, giving flexibility to adjust brightness and colour temperature after installation.

What bulb does it take?

The Jarras takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. For the best visual effect with the ash grey glass, pair with a warm-white filament LED (2200K-2700K) between 4-8W so the filament remains visible through the tinted glass.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The pendant itself has no electronic components that would interfere with dimming, dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb you choose.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjusted during installation by shortening the cable inside the ceiling canopy. Once installed, the height is fixed unless you re-open the canopy and re-adjust the cable length.

How is the glass cleaned?

Switch off and allow the bulb to cool completely. Wipe the outer glass surface with a soft microfibre cloth, lightly dampened with water if needed. Avoid spraying cleaners directly onto the glass near the chrome fittings to prevent tarnishing the metal.
