Description

A slim black bar with an adjustable head, this one throws a tight, directional beam rather than a general wash. The LED sits inside the body, drawing 30W and giving a crisp 4000K cool white that reads clean and neutral against pale worktops and white walls. At 270mm long it is a compact head, narrow in profile, and the black finish keeps it quiet against the track above. The driver is built in, and the light is not dimmable, so it comes on at full output every time.

We reach for it over kitchen islands and worktops, along a shelf of books, or above a workbench where you want the light landing on the task rather than spilling across the room. It suits open-plan rooms and home offices, and it earns its keep in a studio or small shop unit where several heads can be angled independently along the same run. Because the beam is tight, we would space heads closer together for even coverage, and further apart where pools of light with shadow between them are the point. It belongs indoors, in rooms that stay warm and dry.

The housing is black throughout, head and body alike, with a pivot that holds its angle once set. Keep it clean by switching off, letting it cool, then wiping with a dry lint-free cloth; nothing abrasive, and no solvents near the finish. Dust on the lens dulls the output more than most people expect, so a wipe now and then is worth the minute it takes. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same head in white, and both black and white in a warmer white for rooms where cool light would feel too brisk.
