Description

This is a compact linear head, 270mm long, finished in white and shaped as a plain bar rather than a round spot. The body pivots, so light can be aimed where it is wanted, along a run of shelving or across a worktop. A 30W integrated LED does the work with its driver on board, and the colour is a warm 3000K that keeps timber and paint looking friendly rather than clinical. Output is fixed rather than adjustable, so it is not one for a dimmer circuit.

We would use it where light needs to land on something specific: a run of pictures, a kitchen island, a shop display, a reading chair in a corner. The beam is on the tighter side, so it pools light rather than washing a whole room, and heads spaced along a track give an even line of pools without anything hanging low. It suits open plan rooms with tall ceilings, and studios where the furniture moves about and the lighting has to follow. Keep it to indoor rooms; a porch or a shower room needs something sealed.

The housing is finished in white throughout, head and body alike, so it reads quietly against a pale ceiling. Wiring is double insulated, and the LED is fixed in place, which keeps the outside of the fitting unbroken. Dust is the only real upkeep: a dry cloth over the lens and the sides now and then, with nothing wet or abrasive near the paint. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same head in black, and in a cooler white in both finishes where warm light would be too soft for the job.
