Description
The Inglenook is a 1575mm floor lamp with a pyramidal art glass shade and a valiant bronze base. The shade is hand-assembled from individual glass panels in sapphire blue, honey amber and cream, arranged in geometric bands that echo Arts & Crafts design principles. Two E27 bulbs inside the shade (sold separately) cast light through the coloured glass, creating layered amber, blue and cream tones on surrounding walls and ceilings.
Designed for living rooms, reading corners and home offices, the Inglenook provides both ambient and decorative lighting. The 1575mm height positions the shade at eye level when standing, making it suitable for corners behind seating or alongside bookcases where floor-to-ceiling visual interest is needed. The bronze base measures 432mm square, giving the lamp a stable footprint on carpet or bare floors without requiring additional weighting.
Each shade is assembled by hand, so the exact placement of the blue and amber glass sections varies slightly between individual lamps. The valiant bronze finish on the metal base and column has a warm, low-sheen patina that complements the amber tones in the glass and pairs well with oak, walnut and other warm-toned wood furniture. The lamp uses two standard E27 bulbs up to 60W each, allowing buyers to choose the colour temperature and brightness that suits the room — warm-white LEDs around 2700K match the Arts & Crafts aesthetic, while brighter daylight LEDs suit task lighting in a home office.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Inglenook take?
The lamp takes two standard E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most buyers pair this with warm-white LED bulbs around 6-10W and 2700K to match the Arts & Crafts aesthetic and complement the amber and cream glass tones.
Is the glass shade hand-made?
Yes. Each shade is hand-assembled from individual cut glass panels, so the exact placement and alignment of the sapphire blue and honey amber sections varies slightly between lamps. This is a characteristic of hand-assembled art glass, not a defect.
How stable is the base on carpet?
The 432mm square bronze base provides stability on both carpet and hard floors. The weight of the metal base and column gives the lamp a low centre of gravity, so it does not require additional weighting in typical residential use.
Can the shade be cleaned?
Wipe the glass panels with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal framework or using household sprays that may damage the bronze finish or the solder joints between glass sections.
