Infinity 51cm LED Suspension Light White - Dimmable

The Infinity is a 51cm diameter LED suspension light built around a continuous white-painted aluminium frame that curves into an interlocking ribbon shape, with a frosted acrylic diffuser sandwiched inside the ribbon structure. An integrated 42W LED inside the diffuser emits 3400 lumens at 2800K warm white, turning the entire ribbon into a continuous light source rather than a fitting with visible bulb points.

Designed by Spanish designer José Ignacio Ballester for Mantra, the Infinity suits open-plan living spaces, dining areas above tables 1200-1600mm wide, and commercial settings including reception areas and hotel lobbies. The 1500mm maximum drop is adjustable during installation, with a 400mm minimum drop allowing the pendant to be fitted in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. Three suspension cables spread the 1.5kg weight across a 200mm circular ceiling rose, which fits standard UK ceiling fixings.

The white powder-coat finish on the aluminium frame gives a consistent matte surface that avoids reflections and pairs with white, grey, and neutral interiors. The frosted diffuser softens the LED output, preventing direct glare when viewed from below or from the side. Dimming is via a compatible mains dimmer (not included) — the LED driver inside the ceiling rose accepts dimmer input across the 100-240V range, so the fitting works on UK 230V mains without modification.

The ribbon curvature is asymmetric rather than perfectly circular, giving the pendant a dynamic profile that changes depending on viewing angle. From directly below the diffuser reads as an offset circle; from the side the ribbon structure is more apparent. The 510mm diameter suits 2.5-3m ceiling heights without dominating the space, while the 3400 lumen output provides enough ambient light to act as primary illumination in rooms up to 20m².

Is the Infinity dimmable?

Yes. The integrated LED is dimmable using a compatible mains dimmer switch (not included). The LED driver accepts dimmer input across the full 100-240V voltage range. Check your dimmer is rated for LED loads before installation.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1500mm maximum drop can be shortened to a 400mm minimum during installation. This means the pendant works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. For a dining table, the diffuser typically sits 700-800mm above the table surface.

Can the LED be replaced?

The LED is integrated into the frame structure and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of operation, which equates to around 10-15 years of typical residential use at 4-6 hours per day.

What room size does 3400 lumens suit?

3400 lumens at 2800K provides enough ambient light to act as primary illumination in rooms up to 20m². In larger spaces or rooms requiring brighter task lighting, the Infinity works as ambient/decorative lighting paired with additional downlights or task lamps.
