Iku 1 Light Wall Light With Switch - Satin Nickel

The Iku is a single-light wall fitting with a satin nickel arm curved upward from a circular backplate, holding a textured clear glass shade shaped to resemble carved ice. The backplate includes an integral switch, allowing the light to be turned on and off at the fitting without needing to wire it into a separate wall switch circuit. The shade houses a single G9 bulb (sold separately), and the faceted glass surface refracts light in multiple directions as it passes through.

Designed for installation in bedrooms, hallways, staircases and reading corners where a fixed ceiling light would be impractical or where additional task lighting is needed beside a bed or armchair. The 130mm projection from the wall positions the light away from the mounting surface, directing most of the output forward and upward rather than directly onto the wall itself. The integral switch sits on the backplate within easy reach, making the fitting suitable for bedside positions or anywhere a local control point is useful.

The satin nickel finish is a brushed, low-sheen metallic surface that sits between polished chrome and matt nickel in reflectivity. It pairs comfortably with cooler-toned interiors and works alongside brushed stainless steel door furniture, polished chrome taps and grey-based colour schemes. The ice-cube glass shade measures approximately 100mm square and weighs 0.6kg in total once the bulb is fitted, light enough to mount on plasterboard walls with standard cavity fixings.

The fitting is dimmable when paired with a dimmable G9 LED bulb and a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. If the circuit is not dimmable, the integral switch on the backplate provides simple on/off control only. The G9 socket accepts capsule-style bulbs typically available in warm white (2700K-3000K), cool white (4000K) and daylight (5000K+) colour temperatures.

What bulb does the Iku take?

The fitting takes a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 3-5W LED G9 bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bedside or hallway lighting. The maximum wattage depends on the bulb type. Check the bulb packaging.

Is the integral switch the only way to control the light?

No. The fitting can be wired into a standard wall switch circuit like any other wall light, and the integral switch on the backplate provides additional local control. If you prefer to control it only from a wall switch, you can leave the integral switch in the 'on' position permanently.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting is dimmable when paired with a dimmable G9 LED bulb and a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. Non-dimmable bulbs will only provide on/off switching via the integral switch or wall switch.

How is the glass cleaned?

The textured surface of the glass shade collects dust in the facets over time. Wipe with a dry microfibre cloth when the bulb is cool and the power is off. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal backplate or getting moisture into the bulb socket.
