Description

The Hydra is a 176mm round surface-mounted LED downlight with an integrated 15W 3000K LED housed in a black aluminium body. The cylindrical housing mounts directly to the ceiling surface without needing a recessed void, making it suitable for solid concrete ceilings or installations where cutting into the ceiling structure is not practical. The 120° beam angle provides wide light distribution across the floor below.

Designed for hallways, bathrooms, kitchens and commercial spaces where moisture resistance is needed, the IP44 rating protects the fitting from splashes of water from any direction. The downlight can be mounted on ceilings between 2.3m and 3m in height, where the 15W output and 120° beam provide functional ambient lighting without needing a diffuser or additional fittings. The black aluminium body adds 90mm of depth below the ceiling line once mounted.

The matt black finish on the aluminium body absorbs rather than reflects light, keeping visual attention on the lit surface below rather than the fitting itself. The integrated LED operates on standard 220-240V AC mains and includes the driver within the housing, so no separate transformer or control gear is needed during installation. The 3000K colour temperature produces warm white light comparable to traditional halogen downlights, with a high CRI that renders colours and textures accurately under the light.
