Description

The Hoop Twin is a rectangular recessed downlight with two fixed GX53 lamp fittings set in a black aluminium frame with gold-finished bezels. Each circular aperture measures approximately 75mm diameter, with the twin-light configuration giving a 220mm overall length and 110mm width. The fitting recesses into the ceiling to a depth of 45mm, leaving only the black faceplate and gold bezels visible below the ceiling line.

Designed for kitchens, corridors, retail fitting rooms and commercial spaces where two focused downlights are needed in a compact footprint, the Hoop Twin replaces what would traditionally require two separate recessed fittings. The fixed (non-tiltable) lamp heads direct light straight downward, providing task illumination over worktops, display areas or walkways. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry interior locations away from bathrooms and outdoor applications.

The black aluminium frame provides structural rigidity and heat dissipation for the lamps, while the gold-finished bezels surrounding each GX53 socket add a warm accent that pairs well with brass hardware, warm-toned wood cabinetry and contemporary interiors mixing black metalwork with gold or brass detailing. Each GX53 socket accepts bulbs up to 15W (sold separately), allowing flexibility to choose LED colour temperature and brightness to suit the space.

What bulbs does the Hoop Twin take?

Each fitting takes a GX53 bulb up to 15W. GX53 is a low-profile twist-and-lock base commonly used in recessed fittings where ceiling void depth is limited. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this fitting with warm-white LED GX53 bulbs at 7-11W and 2700K-3000K.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

The fitting recesses to a depth of 45mm. A ceiling void depth of at least 60-70mm is recommended to allow clearance for the fitting body, electrical connections and any required thermal insulation gap around the housing.

Can the lamp heads be angled?

No. The Hoop Twin is a fixed downlight with both lamp heads directing light straight downward. The lamps cannot be tilted or rotated once installed.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is designed for dry interior locations only. For bathrooms, showers or outdoor applications, a higher IP-rated fitting (IP44 or above) is required.
