Description

The Hollow is a 40cm dual-mount light fitting with a white acid-etched glass diffuser set in a circular satin nickel metal frame, designed for both flush ceiling and vertical wall installation. Two E27 bulb holders sit behind the glass, which is blown and acid-etched to scatter light evenly across its surface rather than projecting a beam.

Suited to hallways, landings, bathrooms (IP20 rating limits it to zones 3+) and smaller bedrooms where a compact fitting is needed on either a ceiling or a wall, the Hollow's dual-mount capability allows it to be used as a flush ceiling light above a doorway or as a wall light flanking a mirror or headboard. The 40cm diameter provides enough coverage for a 2-3m hallway width or a single-bed bedroom without dominating the space.

The white acid-etched glass gives a soft, diffused light output that reduces glare when mounted at eye level on a wall. The satin nickel frame adds a warm metallic edge without the high reflectivity of polished chrome, so it pairs comfortably with both warm-toned and cooler neutral interiors. Yes. The Hollow is designed for dual mounting and can be installed as a flush ceiling light or as a vertical wall light. The same mounting plate works for both orientations.

What bulbs does it take?

The fitting takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for a warm, soft light that complements the acid-etched glass diffuser.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is dimmable. You will need to use dimmable E27 bulbs and pair the circuit with a compatible dimmer switch to control light levels.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating limits the Hollow to bathroom zones 3+ (areas more than 60cm from a bath, shower or basin). It is not rated for use directly above a bath or in a shower enclosure.
