The Himalaya Mini is a 530mm ceiling fan light with retractable blades finished in a wood-effect coating that mimics natural timber grain. The unit combines a 70W integrated LED light source producing 4900 lumens with a DC motor fan, both controlled by remote. When the fan is off, the four blades retract flush against the circular ceiling mount, leaving the light visible as a contemporary flush fitting. When the fan is activated, the blades extend to full span and rotate.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and home offices where ceiling height is limited or traditional fan designs feel too large, the Himalaya Mini sits 177mm from the ceiling when installed. The tuneable white LED adjusts from warm 2700K to daylight 5000K, allowing occupants to shift the light temperature to suit morning productivity, evening reading or late-night relaxation. The DC motor runs quieter and draws less power than AC fan motors, with multiple speed settings controlled via the remote handset. The dimmable LED and variable fan speed can be adjusted independently.

The wood-effect finish is applied to a metal frame, giving the appearance of solid timber without the weight or maintenance requirements of real wood. The retractable blade mechanism is spring-loaded, so the blades fold inward when the motor stops and extend outward under centrifugal force when the motor starts. The 120° beam angle from the LED spreads light across a room without creating harsh directional shadows, making the unit suitable as a primary light source in rooms up to 18-20m². The 2.7kg weight requires a ceiling joist or noggin capable of supporting at least 15kg when installed.

How does the retractable blade mechanism work?
