Description

The Maytoni Hidden is a twin-head recessed downlight with two independently adjustable 10W LED modules housed in a black aluminium rectangular bezel. Each head tilts and rotates within its aperture, allowing light to be directed onto artwork, architectural details, or task surfaces rather than being fixed downward. The combined 20W output at 3000K delivers warm white light across two independently aimable beams.

Designed for residential and commercial spaces requiring flexible accent or task lighting, the Hidden fits ceiling voids from 10cm depth and suits rooms where wall-washing, object highlighting or directional task light is needed without surface-mounted fittings. Common installations include living rooms (lighting artwork or shelving), kitchens (directing light onto worktops), retail spaces, galleries, and hotel corridors. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations.

The black powder-coated aluminium bezel sits flush with the ceiling plane once installed, with only the tilting heads visible. Each LED module is integrated and non-replaceable, rated for approximately 30,000 hours of operation. The twin-head configuration reduces the number of ceiling cuts needed compared to two separate downlights, simplifying installation in plasterboard or suspended ceilings. The 168mm width suits standard joist spacing in UK residential construction.

Can the LED heads be angled independently?

Yes. Each of the two 10W LED modules tilts and rotates independently within its aperture, allowing you to direct one beam onto a wall and the other downward onto a surface, or both in the same direction for concentrated illumination.

What ceiling void depth is required?

The fitting requires a minimum 10cm ceiling void depth to accommodate the 9.7cm housing height plus clearance for wiring and airflow around the driver.

Is it dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the mains driver supplied with the fitting. Most Maytoni integrated LED downlights support trailing-edge dimmers, but confirm compatibility with your specific dimmer model before installation.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating restricts this fitting to dry indoor locations only. For bathroom zones requiring splash or moisture protection, an IP44 or IP65-rated downlight is needed.
