Description

The Helixis is a 90mm square surface-mounted outdoor downlight with a brown powder-coated die-cast aluminium body and a frosted tempered glass diffuser. The downlight takes a single GU10 bulb (sold separately) and carries an IP54 rating, protecting the internal components from dust ingress and water splashes from any direction.

Designed for wall and soffit mounting on building facades, porch ceilings, covered terraces and garden structures, the Helixis provides directed downward light for pathway illumination, entrance highlighting and architectural accent. The 90mm footprint fits tightly against walls and soffits without protruding significantly, and the brown finish blends with timber cladding, brick and stone surfaces in traditional and contemporary garden settings.

The frosted glass diffuser softens the light spread from the GU10 bulb and reduces direct glare when the fitting is mounted at or above eye level. The die-cast aluminium construction weighs enough to feel substantial on installation without requiring reinforced fixing points, and the powder-coated finish resists corrosion in exposed positions. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible GU10 LED and a suitable dimmer circuit.

The Helixis takes a single GU10 bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this fitting with a warm-white LED GU10 between 3W-7W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor accent and pathway lighting.

Is it suitable for uncovered outdoor positions?

The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashes from any direction, making the Helixis suitable for covered positions such as porch ceilings, soffits and wall mounting under eaves. It is not rated for full exposure to driving rain or submersion.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the fitting itself is dimmable. Dimming capability depends on the GU10 bulb you install and the dimmer circuit you use. Pair with a dimmable GU10 LED and a compatible trailing-edge dimmer for best results.
