Our Heart'n'Soul console table brings together solid oak, MDF and steel, finished with a FENIX® nanolaminate surface that gives the top its matt, low-glare character. The colour here is Black Oak, a deep and steady tone that runs across the frame and the four tapered legs. We chose FENIX® for the top because it resists fingerprints and keeps its even appearance under a table lamp base or a stack of books, and because it wipes clean without fuss. Underneath the surface sits a single pull-out drawer lined in felt, a small detail we like for keeping keys, gloves or a set of remotes from sliding about.

The proportions are long and narrow, standing 82cm tall with a top that measures 110cm by 30cm. At 15kg the piece is manageable to move between rooms, and the surface is rated for a maximum load of 100kg when weight is spread evenly across the top rather than concentrated in one spot. That gives us plenty of room for lamps, framed photographs, a bowl for post or a run of small plants. The four tapered legs keep the footprint clean and the drawer glides on its own runners, so opening and closing stays smooth over time.
