Description

The HDview IP 8MP 16 Channel PoE NVR is a network video recorder that connects up to 16 Power-over-Ethernet security cameras, recording at resolutions up to 8MP (3840×2160). The unit arrives with a 12TB surveillance-grade hard drive pre-installed, giving approximately 30-45 days of continuous 8MP recording depending on scene motion and compression settings. H.265 video compression reduces file sizes by up to 50% compared to H.264 while maintaining the same image quality.

Designed for residential, commercial and industrial CCTV installations, the NVR handles simultaneous recording, playback and remote viewing without frame loss. Recording modes include continuous, scheduled, motion detection and intelligent triggers such as line cross detection and perimeter intrusion detection. Remote monitoring is available through the HDview mobile app for iOS and Android, allowing live viewing and playback from any location with internet access. The HDMI output supports up to 4K resolution for connecting to monitors or TVs.

Each of the 16 PoE ports supplies power and data over a single Ethernet cable to compatible IP cameras at distances up to 250m, eliminating the need for separate power supplies at camera locations. The front panel includes status LEDs for power, network activity and HDD operation, plus a USB 3.0 port on the right side for evidence backup to external drives. The metal chassis measures 526mm wide and rack-mountable in standard 19-inch racks with optional mounting brackets.

Frequently Asked

What cameras are compatible with this NVR?

The NVR works with any ONVIF-compliant IP camera that supports PoE (802.3af or 802.3at). HDview IP cameras are tested for full compatibility, but third-party ONVIF cameras should also connect without issues. Check the camera specifications to confirm it supports PoE and ONVIF protocols.

How much recording time does 12TB provide?

Recording time varies by resolution, frame rate and scene activity. At 8MP resolution with H.265 compression and medium motion scenes, 12TB typically provides 30-45 days of continuous recording across all 16 channels. Lower resolutions or motion-only recording modes extend this significantly.

Can I access the NVR remotely?

Yes. The HDview mobile app for iOS and Android allows remote live viewing and playback from any location with internet access. The NVR must be connected to your router and configured with the app during initial setup.

What's the maximum cable run for PoE cameras?

Each PoE port supports cable runs up to 250m using standard Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable. Beyond 250m, power loss may prevent the camera from operating reliably. For longer runs, use a PoE extender or switch at an intermediate point.
