Description
The HDview 16-channel 8MP PoE NVR is a network video recorder capable of recording up to 16 IP cameras at resolutions up to 8MP (4K) over Power-over-Ethernet connections. The unit ships with an 8TB surveillance-grade hard drive pre-installed and uses H.265 video compression to extend recording duration and reduce storage consumption compared to older H.264 codecs.
Designed for residential, small business and light commercial installations requiring 24/7 surveillance, the NVR supports continuous recording, scheduled recording, motion-triggered recording and intelligent detection modes including line-cross detection and perimeter intrusion detection. The PoE ports supply power and data to compatible IP cameras over a single Ethernet cable, eliminating the need for separate power supplies at each camera location. Maximum cable run per channel is 250m using Cat5e or Cat6 cable.
The NVR outputs video to a monitor or TV via HDMI at resolutions up to 4K, allowing live viewing and playback of recorded footage. Remote monitoring is supported via a dedicated mobile app, enabling access to live feeds and recorded clips from smartphones and tablets when the NVR is connected to a local network with internet access. The front panel includes a USB port for backing up footage to external drives for evidence transfer or archival purposes.
The metal chassis measures 526mm wide by 405mm deep by 111mm high and weighs 3.6kg net, designed for rack-mount or shelf installation in server rooms, plant rooms or secure storage areas. The unit supports simultaneous playback, recording and remote viewing without interrupting any function.

Frequently Asked
How many cameras can this NVR support?
The unit supports up to 16 IP cameras simultaneously, each recording at resolutions up to 8MP. All 16 channels provide PoE, so compatible cameras receive both power and data over a single Ethernet cable.
What recording capacity does the 8TB drive provide?
Recording duration depends on the number of cameras, resolution, frame rate and compression codec used. With H.265 compression and 16 cameras recording at 8MP resolution continuously, the 8TB drive typically provides 10-14 days of storage. Lower resolutions, motion-triggered recording or fewer cameras extend this significantly.
Can I view footage remotely?
Yes. When the NVR is connected to a local network with internet access, the dedicated mobile app allows remote viewing of live feeds and playback of recorded clips from smartphones and tablets. The app is available for iOS and Android.
What's the maximum cable length per camera?
Each PoE channel supports cable runs up to 250m using Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable. Beyond this distance, signal degradation and power loss may affect camera performance. For longer runs, PoE extenders or switches can be used at intermediate points.
