Description

The Hasanne is a fabric pendant light: a drum shade in cappuccino with a gold inner lining, hung from a satin nickel ceiling canopy on a slim suspension. It measures 38cm across and 110cm tall overall, a comfortable size for a single central light in a living room or bedroom. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 60W, and as the bulb is not included, you can choose the colour of light that suits the room. Rated IP20, it is made for indoor rooms that stay dry, so keep it away from bathrooms and the garden.

The drum is open at the base, so the light falls downward onto whatever sits beneath the shade, which makes it a good choice above a coffee table, a reading chair or a seating corner. The gold lining has a practical job as well as a decorative one: it warms the tone of the light leaving the shade, giving a room a cosy feel in the evening. The cappuccino fabric is a soft, earthy grey-brown that sits happily with warm wall colours, dark upholstery and wooden floors. We think it suits anyone who wants a single ceiling light that looks considered and sets a calm mood without fuss.

The steel body has a satin nickel finish across the ceiling canopy and suspension, a soft silver tone that lets the shade take the attention. There is no switch on the fitting: it is switched at the wall, so it works from your existing light switch. It runs on a 220-240V, 50/60Hz supply. As a hard-wired mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. The packed weight is 1.232KG. One practical note: have an E27 bulb of up to 60W ready before the electrician visits, so the light is working the same day.
