Description

The Hartsville is a single-arm wall light built around a circular backplate in a chalk washed finish, with a curved arm supporting a turned beachwood column and a flame-tip bulb holder. The backplate measures 114mm diameter, the arm projects 102mm from the wall, and the overall height from the base of the backplate to the tip of the E14 socket is 194mm. The fitting takes a single E14 candle bulb up to 40W, sold separately.

Designed for hallways, staircases, bedrooms and living rooms where a decorative wall-mounted light source is needed without taking up floor or surface space, the Hartsville suits farmhouse, coastal and country-cottage interiors. The chalk washed finish on the metal components gives a soft, low-sheen appearance that sits between white and pale grey, while the beachwood turned column adds warmth and grain texture. Installed in pairs either side of a mirror, fireplace or doorway, the fittings create symmetry; used individually, they provide accent lighting beside a bed or along a corridor.

The turned beachwood column shows natural grain variation and sits on a metal collar that transitions from the curved arm to the vertical bulb holder. The backplate curves outward from the wall in a shallow dish profile, giving the fitting physical presence without heavy projection. The chalk washed finish has been lightly distressed during manufacture to expose metal beneath in places, creating tonal variation that mimics age and use. The E14 socket is visible, so pairing with a clear or amber glass candle bulb allows the filament to contribute to the aesthetic.

What bulb does it take?

The Hartsville takes a single E14 small Edison screw candle bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED candle bulb in warm white (2700K) or a decorative filament bulb to complement the exposed socket design.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The fitting carries no IP rating and is designed for dry interior use only. It is not suitable for bathrooms or zones subject to moisture or splashing.

Does the beachwood vary between fittings?

Yes. Each turned beachwood column shows different grain patterns and tonal variation depending on the section of timber it was cut from. This is a feature of natural wood, not a defect.

Is the chalk washed finish uniform?

No. The chalk washed finish is intentionally distressed during manufacture to expose the metal beneath in places, creating tonal variation that gives the appearance of age and weathering. No two fittings will have identical distressing patterns.
