Description

The Hartley is a three light semi-flush ceiling light in brass, with glass shades set on a brass frame that sits close to the ceiling rather than dropping down on a chain or rod. It measures 56.5cm across with a 12cm projection, giving it a wide, generous spread while still sitting neatly close to the ceiling. Each of the three arms takes an E14 lamp, and the brass and glass combination gives it a warm, classic look that carries plenty of character.

With a diameter of over half a metre, the Hartley suits larger hallways, landings and dining rooms rather than small box rooms, where it can spread its light generously across the space. The three lamps give an even, ambient glow rather than one concentrated pool, so it works well as a main light in a room used for gathering family and friends or for dining. It sits comfortably in a period property, or in a newer home where you want to bring in some traditional warmth without a full rewire.

We finish it in brass, aged just enough to feel warm rather than shiny, so it sits happily alongside wood tones, cream walls and other traditional colours without looking dated. Wipe it over occasionally with a soft, dry cloth, and steer clear of abrasive cleaners that might mark the brass or scratch the glass shades.
