Description

This hanging wall banner brings the Gryffindor house crest to a bedroom wall in rich red and gold. The deep red ground has a soft, mottled look, scattered with small gold stars, and a fine gold line runs around the edge. At the centre sits the printed shield: a crown above the word Hogwarts, a large letter G beside a lion's head, and Gryffindor across a ribbon, with more stars below. The banner is 70cm tall, 27.5cm wide and 1cm deep, a size that fills the space above a bed or desk without crowding it. Its pointed lower edge is finished with a full golden fringe.

We see it in a young fan's bedroom, a study corner or a reading nook, anywhere loyalty to Gryffindor deserves to be on show. It suits children and teenagers alike, and older fans of the Harry Potter stories will happily give it wall space too. As a gift, it pleases the reader who has just finished the books and the one who has read them many times over. Hung on a bedroom door, it marks the room as house territory.

A slim rod runs along the top, with a hanging cord tied at each end, so the banner can hang straight from a single hook or picture nail. From one end of the rod hangs a round rose-gold coloured medallion bearing a shielded letter H and the word Hogwarts, beside a soft tassel in a warm champagne shade. The crest, stars and edging are printed in gold. Dust it now and then with a soft dry cloth and smooth the fringe gently with your fingers if it tangles. Hang it above a desk stacked with favourite reads for a corner that feels like a common room, or wrap it up as a gift for the Gryffindor in your life.
