Description

This 3D stoneware mug brings Dobby from Harry Potter to the breakfast table, modelled as his head and shoulders in soft pale pink with a grey garment. His large pointed ears stand out at either side, and his face is picked out with round dark eyes, gently raised brows, a small rounded nose, rosy cheeks and a contented little smile. The grey cloth he wears is gathered up and knotted at one shoulder like a tied tea towel, and a plain white loop handle curves out from behind him on one side. Inside, the mug is a clean pale cream. It holds 220ml and stands 10cm tall, 11cm wide and 14cm deep.

At 220ml it is a neat, cup-sized mug rather than a big one, just right for a quick cup of tea, a mid-morning coffee or a small hot chocolate. It brings a cheerful face to a kitchen shelf, a desk or a bedside table, and it is the sort of mug that soon becomes the one everybody reaches for first. We think it makes a lovely Christmas gift, unwrapped with a grin on the day, and a fun back-to-school treat for starting a new term with something friendly to drink from.

The mug is made from stoneware and shaped all the way round, so the back of his head and his shoulders are modelled too, with the grey garment carried right round to the base. It stands on its own flat base and needs no saucer. As with any shaped ceramic, we would wash it gently by hand in warm soapy water and dry it with a soft cloth, taking a little care around the ears and the knot.
