Harbor Crystal 6 Light Chandelier - Gold

The Harbor is a 400mm crystal chandelier from Ideal Lux with six E14 bulb fittings and a gold-plated metal frame. The shade consists of densely strung strands of cut crystal pearls forming a domed canopy around a circular frosted glass base plate. Light from the six bulbs passes through the crystal and the frosted glass, creating refracted sparkle across the outer crystal surface and diffused ambient light downward through the base.

Designed for dining rooms, bedrooms and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Harbor suits rooms where decorative and ambient lighting are both needed. The 400mm diameter and 190mm shade height make it proportionate above a dining table in a 3-4m room or centred in a bedroom of similar dimensions. The suspension cables include automatic cable stoppers, allowing the drop to be adjusted during installation to position the chandelier 700-900mm above a table surface or 2m above floor level in an entrance hall.

The gold plating on the metal frame and ceiling rose gives a warm metallic accent that pairs with warm brass fixtures, antique gold mirrors and warm timber furniture. The crystal pearls are individually cut and strung on fine wire, so light movement from air circulation creates subtle shifts in the refracted light patterns across walls and ceilings. The frosted glass base plate prevents direct glare from the six bulbs while still allowing downward illumination to reach the surface below.

What bulbs does the Harbor take?

The chandelier takes six E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for dining and bedroom use. The fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch.

What ceiling height is needed?

The suspension cables are adjustable using automatic cable stoppers. For a dining table the chandelier typically hangs 700-900mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In an entrance hall or bedroom the chandelier can be positioned 2m above floor level, again requiring a minimum ceiling height of approximately 2.4m once the 190mm shade height is accounted for.

How is the crystal maintained?

The crystal pearls can be dusted with a soft dry cloth when the power is off and the fitting has cooled. For deeper cleaning, individual strands can be wiped gently with a barely-damp microfibre cloth. Avoid soaking the crystal or using household sprays, as residue can dull the cut surfaces.

Is the gold finish real gold?

The gold is a plated finish on the metal frame, not solid gold. The plating provides the warm metallic tone and is durable under normal indoor conditions. Over time, handling during cleaning or bulb changes may cause minor wear to high-contact areas.
