Description

The Halox is a 250mm white metal wall light with two G9 bulb fittings housed behind sandblasted Pyrex glass diffusers. The metal body curves in a smooth arc, directing light both upwards and downwards to create wash light on the wall surface rather than forward projection into the room. The white powder-coated finish covers the metal frame completely, giving a clean, matt appearance that hides fingerprints and minor scuffs.

Designed for hallways, staircases and bedrooms, the Halox provides ambient rather than task lighting. The 90mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting close to the surface, making it suitable for narrow corridors and smaller rooms where a protruding fitting would obstruct passage. The 250mm width allows it to be used singly above a bedside table or in multiples along a hallway at 1.5-2m spacing for consistent lighting along the length of the corridor.

The sandblasted Pyrex diffusers soften the G9 bulb light and prevent direct glare, turning each bulb into a gentle glow rather than a visible point source. The metal construction gives the fitting a solid 0.8kg weight that fixes securely to plasterboard or masonry walls using the supplied fixings. The white finish pairs cleanly with white or light-toned walls and works across modern, Scandi and minimalist interiors without adding visual weight.

Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with two warm-white G9 LED bulbs at 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for soft ambient lighting. The fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible wall dimmer.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does it take?

The Halox takes two G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users choose warm-white G9 LED bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting. The maximum wattage depends on the specific bulb technology — check the lamp specification for halogen or LED limits.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and a compatible wall dimmer. The metal fixture itself supports dimming, but the bulbs must also be marked as dimmable. Non-dimmable G9 LEDs will flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only.

How is it mounted?

The Halox mounts to a wall via a rear metal backplate with two fixing points. The 90mm projection from wall to front face means it sits relatively close to the wall surface, minimising obstruction in narrow hallways.
