This is a G9 capsule lamp, small enough to sit inside the sort of fittings where the lamp itself is partly on show. It puts out 220lm at 4000K, a clean neutral white with no warmth pulled through it, and draws only 1.5W to do so. Because the body is clear rather than coated, light leaves it in every direction and picks up the cut of any glass or crystal around it. It is not dimmable, so it wants a plain switch rather than a dimmer plate.

We reach for capsules like this in wall lights, small pendants and multi-arm chandeliers, and in shallow fittings where a bigger lamp will not sit behind the diffuser. The cooler white suits kitchens, utility rooms, home offices and mirror lights, anywhere you want colours read accurately rather than flattered. If the room already runs warmer lamps elsewhere, keep the two apart on separate fittings, because mixed white tones show up quickly on a plain ceiling. For sitting rooms and bedrooms, a warmer white is usually the happier choice.

The clear body keeps the emitter visible, so it reads as a lamp rather than a blank block, and nothing softens the source.
