Description

The Hadley is a 356mm flush ceiling light with three E27 bulb fittings behind an etched opal glass diffuser, set within a stepped polished chrome frame. The 140mm projection from ceiling to bottom of glass makes it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above, where a pendant would hang too low or feel visually heavy.

Designed for hallways, landings, bathrooms and kitchens where moisture resistance matters, the Hadley carries an IP44 rating allowing it to be fitted in bathroom zones 2 and 3. The three-bulb configuration distributes light evenly across the glass, reducing harsh shadows and pooling, while the etched finish on the glass softens the output and diffuses the light across the room rather than directing it downward as a spotlight would.

The stepped chrome frame references Art Deco and 1920s cinema lighting, with three concentric rings providing visual depth and reflecting light back into the room. The polished chrome finish creates bright reflections under daylight and pairs cleanly with white tiles, marble vanities and chrome taps in bathrooms, or with stainless steel appliances in kitchens. The glass diffuser is a single piece, removable for bulb changes by releasing a locking ring on the underside of the frame.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating makes the Hadley suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 (outside the shower enclosure but within the bathroom space). It is not rated for zone 1 (inside a shower enclosure or directly above a bath).

What bulbs does it take?

The Hadley takes three E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient bathroom or hallway lighting.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 140mm projection from ceiling to bottom of glass works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above. Lower ceilings may feel cramped with the fitting in place, though it is still technically installable.

How is the glass removed for bulb changes?

The glass diffuser is held in place by a locking ring on the underside of the chrome frame. Twist the ring anti-clockwise to release the glass, change the bulbs, then refit and lock the ring back into place.
