Description

The Habana is a square table lampshade with a 240mm x 240mm footprint and 165mm height, built around a rigid metal frame wrapped in black woven fabric. The fabric has a fine basket weave texture that diffuses light through the material rather than blocking it entirely, creating a warm glow around the shade while directing focused light downwards and upwards through the open top and bottom.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables and side-of-sofa positions, the Habana suits E27 or B22 table lamp bases where the shade clips or screws onto a standard lamp holder. The square profile gives the shade a more architectural presence than a traditional drum shade, pairing well with geometric lamp bases in brass, chrome, ceramic or timber. At 165mm tall the shade works on bases between 250-400mm where the proportions stay balanced.

The black fabric finish absorbs rather than reflects ambient light, making the shade itself recede visually when the lamp is off, while the woven texture becomes visible when the lamp is lit and shows the light passing through the fibres. The 240mm width gives enough spread for reading light without overwhelming a typical bedside table, and the 0.3kg weight sits securely on most lamp bases without needing additional ballast.

The Habana fits standard E27 or B22 table lamp holders with a shade carrier ring or clip-on fitting. Check your lamp base has either a ring below the bulb holder or a clip-on bracket before ordering.

Does the fabric show light through?

Yes. The woven fabric diffuses light through the weave, creating a warm glow around the sides of the shade when the lamp is on. The shade directs stronger light up through the open top and down through the open bottom.

What size table does it suit?

At 240mm square the shade works on bedside tables from 400mm wide upwards, and on console or side tables where there is at least 300mm depth available. The shade sits securely on most lamp bases without overhanging.

Can the fabric be cleaned?

Dust the fabric regularly with a soft brush or vacuum on low suction using an upholstery attachment. For marks, spot-clean with a barely-damp microfibre cloth. Do not immerse the shade in water or use chemical cleaners on the fabric.
