Description

The Griffin is a 422mm semi-flush ceiling light in polished chrome with three curved arms supporting a single etched white glass bowl. Each of the three arms extends from a stepped chrome ceiling plate, curves outward and then back inward to cradle the glass shade from underneath. The fitting drops 301mm from the ceiling, with the glass shade accounting for most of that projection. Three E27 bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the bowl, with the etched white glass diffusing the light evenly across the room.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.8m where a fully flush ceiling light would not provide enough projection or character, but a full pendant would hang too low. The Griffin suits bedrooms, hallways, landings, and moderate-sized living rooms where ambient light is needed without dominating the visual space. The 422mm diameter gives the fitting enough presence for a 3m x 3m room without overwhelming narrower hallways or smaller bedrooms. How is the glass shade cleaned?

The etched glass shade can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth and a drop of glass cleaner. For deeper cleaning, the shade can be removed by unscrewing the finial at the base (switch off the power first) and washed gently in warm soapy water, then dried before re-fitting.
