Description

The Grand Ball is a 40cm spherical glass pendant with a mirrored silver chrome finish, suspended from a slim chrome canopy on a 150cm adjustable cable. The single E27 lamp holder sits inside the sphere, with the bulb visible through the open base of the globe. The mirrored coating reflects the surrounding room across the curved surface, while the open underside allows direct downward light onto the surface below.

Sized for use over dining tables, kitchen islands and breakfast bars, a single 40cm Grand Ball suits a table or worktop of around 1.2-1.6m, with the pendant typically hung 700-800mm above the surface. Two or three units in a row work well over longer islands or rectangular dining tables. The 150cm cable can be shortened on installation to suit ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards, and the chrome canopy fits a standard UK ceiling rose.

The glass globe is supplied as a single piece with a polished silver chrome coating on the exterior, giving it a near-mirror surface that reads as a solid metallic ball when unlit and shifts to a warm glow around the open base when the bulb is on. The pendant takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. Because the bulb is visible through the open base of the sphere, a decorative filament or globe bulb works well. We recommend an LED filament bulb between 4-8W at 2700K for warm dining-friendly light.
